How to choose extension length –
This information is for the Stoeger M3000/ M3K and P3000 only.
Extensions fit M3500, but stated capacity and length will be different due to the 3-1/2″ chambering.
All extensions less than +5 will be shorter than the barrel.
A +5 extension is about 3/8″ longer than a 24″ barrel, and gives a capacity of 9+1.
A +6 extension is about 7/8″ longer than a 26″ barrel, and gives a capacity of 10+1.
A +7 extension is about 1-1/2″ longer than a 28″ barrel, and gives a capacity of 11+1.
A +8 extension will give an overall magazine length of approx 31-1/2″ from the front of the receiver, and gives a capacity of 12+1
A +9 extension will give an overall magazine length of approx 34″ from the front of the receiver, and gives a capacity of 13+1
IMPORTANT!!!!!
If your shotgun has an orange plastic follower, there is a very good chance that it will not function with an extended magazine.
It is too short, and the corner is sharp so it will hang up where the tubes meet.
We highly recommend replacing it with our low-drag follower for reliability.
